ETC Computer Solutions

We offer a special bulletin to those customers of ETC that have purchased a Dell laptop from us in the past two years.

On August 15th, Dell released information relating to issues regarding some laptop models and overheating batteries.

From their website...
"Dell has identified a potential issue associated with certain batteries
sold with Dell Latitude and Inspiron laptop computers. Dell is voluntarily
recalling certain Dell-branded batteries with cells manufactured by Sony and offering free replacements for these batteries.  Under rare conditions, it is possible for these batteries to overheat, which could pose a risk of fire."

We at ETC are doing everything in our power to inform you of the risks posed by the laptop batteries.  We will be notifying you of the issues if you've not been contacted already.

To see if you're affected, head to
https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com/Default.aspx
to verify if your battery is at risk.

Dell then has steps for a replacement battery which we strongly urge that you follow.

  • Do not touch the screen.

  • Do not place things on top of the laptop.
