What is this 'Bluetooth' thing? Simply put, bluetooth wireless technology is a worldwide specification for a small-form factor, low-cost radio solution that provides links between mobile computers, mobile phones, other portable handheld devices, and connectivity to the Internet. Did I already lose you? Just like 802.11 b/g wireless networking systems and many cordless telephones, Bluetooth devices operate on 2.4 GHz radio signals. Bluetooth is slower than wireless that you currently use for items such as internet and it also has a very limited range of 65 to 328 feet. So what good is it? Well, devices from small PDA handheld organizers, to cell phones, to mice and keyboards make great uses of Bluetooth technology. It helps avoid all the wiring clutter near your computer. Don't have it, well, they make bluetooth adapters if you bought a keyboard that's bluetooth, but your computer doesn't have it. No matter, let ETC help in determining your wants and needs. Congratulations go to Mental Health Authority for West Central Illinois!
Drawings are held monthly for a free computer system with monitor. Only 501(c)(3) tax exempt organizations with principal offices in the Quincy area can win. Organizations must register each month on ETC's website at www.goetc.net and can win only once per year.
